Looking for a new WEBSITE host

We are a NOT FOR PROFIT in Adelaide South Australia. We are looking at changing over our Website host. Does anyone here do that sort of thing? Thanks :)

Hello Christine. You'll doubtless find a myriad of hosting opportunities, both here and elsewhere with a bit of Googling. There are lots of considerations when choosing a website hosting provider/partner. There are no 1-size-fits-all service providers. For example, my company (going 18 years) provides website hosting, shared (multi-tenant) and dedicated (single-tenant). Our shared plans are here: https://www.itomic.com.au/services/website-hosting/. We host about 500 sites for about 300 clients, including many NFPs such as RSPCA (Australia) and Ninti One (Adelaide-based, like you). We offer 1 year free shared hosting for Connecting Up members. BUT... 1. We're definitely not the cheapest (hosting provider or web agency). Our standard hourly rate is $155+GST from 1 July 2018 (currently $150). 2. Our total service works best when we're also the company who provide service, support, security, etc. to your hosted asset(s). 3. We primarily support WordPress, Drupal, and Laravel (i.e. open-source) websites. So if your website is NOT powered by one of these technologies, then we may still be able to provide excellent hosting services, but *probably* wouldn't be able to provide any support for the site itself. Which therefore makes our hosting service less competitive. 4. Even though the hosting would be free for the first year, we would still charge time & materials to migrate your site from your current hosting provider, to us. Typically this takes in the region of 2-10 hours depending on the size and complexity. We'd also have to review the security status of your site in case patching is required. We do offer ongoing security monitoring and patching services. Feel free to call me personally to review further, if you're still interested after reading the above. Hi Christine, We host web sites exclusively for Not for Profits. We run our own servers, so we have full control over every aspect of hosting, and we are compliant with the APPs. We provide hourly backups, free SSL certificates and fixed price support. Hi Christine, We are based in Adelaide and this is a service that we offer for our clients. To migrate your site you would be looking at around an hour of our time, we could migrate to a host of your choosing. To give you an idea, a shared tenancy host in Australia would start at around $100 per year. For something a little higher end say a dedicated server that was yours alone, you might be looking at around $300-$500 per year with the host of your choice. Depending on your traffic volumes, for the most part a basic hosting package is more than suitable. I would defiantly advise talking to us for some advice, depending on your needs we can either host the site for you as a re-seller or set you up to go direct with the most appropriate host, this way you maintain full control.
