Webinar software
Audio, video and telephony - Asked by kate strohm on Thursday, 16 February, 2017 - 15:11
Hi I am trying to decide what program to use for webinars and teleconferencing. I am a very small NFP, with me as the only staff member mainly working in a voluntary capacity so no real IT help. I need to run webinars for less than 25 people and teleconferences for less than 10 people - not often, probably a total of 2-3 a month. Zoom has a good plan for US$15, but I am wondering if ok to use a US based option. Also have been told that with Office365 I could get free webinars and teleconferences but I am nervous about using Office365 without IT support – would have to have it installed etc. I have a very small grant which could probably cover Zoom for 12 months. Just wondering if anyone has other thoughts? Thanks so much Kate Strohm, Siblings Australia (donortec registered).

Skype for business...https://www.skype.com/en/business/skype-for-business/Reply by Matt Walton from Infoxchange on Friday, 17 February, 2017 - 09:40
Skype for Business is a great video conferencing tool that comes free with Office 365 and Office 2016 Pro Plus. So if you are planning on having email, calendars and other tools in the Microsoft Office suite it is good to have an integrated video conferencing solution with your calendars and contacts. However if you need dial in numbers (pstn conferencing or Cloud PABX) you will need the e5 license for $13.40 a user per month. An Office 365 readiness assessment will help you come up with a plan for the implementation if you need help - https://mig1.cisa.asn.au/discount/office-365-readiness-assessment/microsoft-office-365-readiness-assessment Alternatively GoToMeeting is also a good product if you just want a stand alone video conferencing or webinar tool. If you require over 25 users or want additional functionality you may want to upgrade to GoToWebinar. They used to have an NFP deal that was cheap for the first 12 months but I cant find it so perhaps get in touch directly https://www.gotomeeting.com/en-au/meeting/pricing-ma Let me know if you require assistance Matt - mwalton@infoxchange.orgReply by Ross Gerring from Itomic on Friday, 17 February, 2017 - 10:41
Haven't tried this myself, but I hear this is good, and it's free (for up to 8 people): https://appear.in/ From their website: - No registration or downloads. Guests won’t have to register to join. Just send them the room link to join in the browser. - Group video conversations. You can have video conversations with up to 8 people at once. (12 with premium rooms) - Simple screensharing . Want to share your screen to present something? Of course you can! - Join from any device! Standup while on the bus? No problem. (app required on iOS. Get it here) - Wanna stay private? Just lock the room and screen guests on video as they knock.
