Hello, I'm just trying to obtain some advice in regards to ordering some Microsoft client/server software and was hoping someone here might be able to assist? I consult for NFP and they are looking to bring all their software licensing current in terms of versions and numbers. They utilise a Term Server environment with approximately 45 users and 40 client machines. They have two sites; * The main office which has two physical servers -> a Hyper-V server and also a dedicated Term Server. The Hyper-V server has a few VM's for various Windows-based server roles but the main one is a SQL 2008 Server. * A branch soffice which has one physical server which again is a Hyper-V server with a couple VM's for Windows-based roles. The clients RDP back to the Term Server at the main office over a WAN. All the clients and servers are currently running older platforms such as XP, Vista, 7, Windows Server 2008 and 2008R2 in some circumstances. For the most part we are looking at upgrading the servers to 2012R2, SQL 2014 and clients to Windows 7 or 10 and Office 2016 where possible (and Office365 but that's another project)! Allowing for user/machine growth and the existing server infrastructure I have a shopping list that looks like this (in no particular order); Microsoft Office Professional Plus (Includes Software Assurance) x45 Microsoft SQL Server Standard Edition (Core-Based Licensing) x2 (4 virtual cores) Microsoft Windows Pro Full Operating System – Get Genuine (x5) Microsoft Windows Operating System Upgrade (x35) Microsoft Windows Remote Desktop Services Device CAL (Includes Software Assurance) x45 Windows Server 2012 R2 Datacenter Edition x2 Windows Server 2012 R2 Standard Edition x1 Microsoft Windows Server Device CAL (Includes Software Assurance) x40 Based on what I've described above, does this sound right - have I forgotten anything?? Appreciate any feedback!
