Microsoft Licencing

Can anyone confirm the licence requirements for Office when users are utilizing office in a TS environment and installed locally on a PC. My understanding is for example a 20 user environment would need 20 licences to access the TS environment and a further 20 licences to cover the PC environment even though they wouldn’t be using both the Terminal server and the desktop versions at the same time.

Hi, If you're running Microsoft Office provided by volume licensing, then 1 license will allow you to use Office on both the server and the desktop. This does not apply to OEM or retail product licensing. Let me know if you have any other questions. AnthonyReply by Colin Thompson from TechBrain on Thursday, 14 May, 2015 - 12:12
Hi there. A single license will cover you for any machine accessing office on the terminal server and the desktop or laptop. With the ConnectingUP license you also get SA included, which gives the right to upgrade or downgrade as required.
