issues with installing Office 2013

Hi I have been trying to install Office Pro Plus 2013 which I purchased via the connecting up website on a new laptop with Windows 8.1. Error is Bootstrapper has stopped working. I have googled this and tried to fix it using the Microsoft uninstall fixit, then restart and retried to install the program which was downloaded and saved onto the laptop computer. I have had no success at all, I have spoken to many members of Microsoft staff who have been extremely unhelpful and offered to help if we pay a large fee. AMIDA is a not for profit organisation with few funds and so this is not an option. I have some IT skills but I am no expert so if there is any way someone can help I would greatly appreciate it. If more information is required please contact me by email. Thank you Pam Geoghegan AMIDA

Hi Pam, We can help you in a couple of ways either try and fix it over the phone or by remote, if you would like us to help, please email us or call us on our mobile service. Thanks GrantReply by Colin Thompson from TechBrain on Tuesday, 25 November, 2014 - 01:29
Hi Pam, There is a pretty simple set of instructions at http://www.thewindowsclub.com/microsoft-setup-bootstrapper-stopped-working-installing-office-2013 that might help. Give that a go. Make sure you check in "Programs" and remove any earlier version of office before retrying the install. There is an article at http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/office/forum/office_2013_release-office_install/office-pp-2013-setup-bootstrapper-has-stopped/8fe4be5f-43d9-4165-bf18-94cc3d138355 that is worth looking at also. My advice to you would be to take each step slowly and reboot between each task. Regards Colin Thompson Community @bluenetworks.com.au http://www.bluenetworks.com.au
