New organisation with IT set up need and share files
We are a newly formed Aboriginal organisation and have 3 PCs. We need to improve how our files and information is shared, including diaries etc. Is someone able to provide advice or assistance. Not sure what Cloud hosting is or if it is appropriate for us.

Hi, I would suggest you look straight into using Google. They have email colaboration and google drive. Calendars and other things can be shared straight away also. If you have your own domain, you can go down the path of using Google Apps. But at your size, you could just use mail forwarding and google drive in about 30 minutes of set up. Plenty of people out there can help with this. Just don't use a school kid that 'knows it all' and make sure you set things up with security around it. Agree with Edward on this one, also consider using Office 365, which will give you a sharepoint environment. Regards Argy PaktitisReply by from IT Leaders on Friday, 22 June, 2012 - 09:07
Hi, I agree with the below in regards to Cloud hosting ... however be aware that under the 'Information Privacy Act (2000)', if you are dealing with sensitive or private client data, you may be in breach of the Act and non compliant if that information is hosted overseas. This goes for offsite backup as well. Microsoft, Google and Amazon for example, their closest Data Centres are in Singapore and are not located in Australia at all. If you are not dealing with sensitive client data, then Google Apps or Microsft 360 would be a great way of achieving what you are trying to do. Kind Regards Chris McAvinue IT Leaders 1300 596 560
