Share Point 2010
I dont know what product to buy. We are a small service with six computer terminals . My COM has asked me to obtain Sharepoint 2010 . Our server information is Windows Server Standard FE (2008) and we require 10 CAL overall.

Why didn't you get SBS? It includes Sharepoint portal services which should handle your requirements. http://sharepoint.microsoft.com/en-us/buy/Pages/Editions-Comparison.aspx has a comparison of the editions - probably best to work out what features you need first, then you can establish what licences you require.Reply by Steve Constantinou from Emerging IT Pty Ltd on Tuesday, 29 May, 2012 - 11:30
SBS is a good basis as is does come with limited Sharepoint functionality, but it would be a good idea to speak to a sharepoint consultant as to your requirements. Sharepoint is one of those applications that needs a fair bit of development to be useful.Reply by n/a from Rococo IT on Thursday, 7 June, 2012 - 14:37
I agree with what has been said so far. SBS includes Sharepoint and is ideally suited for a company your size. While there are plenty of pre-built apps around for it, it requires someone to put it all together and that's usually a Sharepoint developer/consultant. I would add that it's an environment that benefits larger organizations.
