Licensing Office 2010 for Terminal Server
I'm trying to find out how I go about purchasing Terminal Server enabled licenses for Office 2010. I need to upgrade our Office 2003 to 2010 and believe you need ts enabled licenses (volume licenses) to serve out Office 2010 in a Terminal Server environment. We currently have Server 2003. Are we able to purchase these type of licenses from Donortec. Regards Karen Wigan Autism Queensland

Hi Karen, Your standard DonorTec Office Licences should cover this - they will be Open Licence Office Professional Plus, which entitles you to use them on a Terminal Server / Remote Desktop Services. You will also obviously need Remote Desktop (RDS) licences. Any questions let me know, Regards, Chris Herrmann Far Edge 0284251410Reply by Steve Constantinou from Emerging IT Pty Ltd on Monday, 21 May, 2012 - 13:33
Hi Karen, In order to run Office in a Terminal Server environment, you would need to purchase Microsoft Open Business licensing. Retail and OEM versions of the software cannot be installed on a Terminal Server as the license keys are for single installed. You can contact me for pricing if you are interested and there is an added bonus that as a Non for profit, special charity pricing is available.Reply by from IT Leaders on Tuesday, 22 May, 2012 - 14:58
Hi Karen, as the others have said, you do need either Open Business Licenses or Open Value Licences to install onto a Terminal Server or Remote Desktop Server. OEM or Retail licenses are not legally compliant to be run in such an environment Donortec can provide those licenses for you. If you need any help or assistance, we have an office literally 5 miuntes away from yours and would be happy to help. Kind Regards Chris McAvinue IT Leaders 1300 596 560
