What is an Open Licence?
Hello, I was wondering what a Microsoft Open Licence is and what am I agreeing to when I agree to the terms and conditions of an Open Licence? Thanks, Tina

In very general terms, in addition to agreeing to Microsoft’s general terms and conditions of use, an Open Licensing agreement includes details of such things as the available product pool, the minimum initial purchase, pricing and the agreement term length as well as additional benefits such as "home use" provisions. How this licensing arrangement applies to software donated through Donortec is detailed here: http://www.donortec.org/content/what-volume-licensing-and-how-it-applies-your-donation AS you would expect the Microsoft website has comprehensive advice on Volume Licensing options, including Open Licensing, here: http://www.microsoft.com/licensing/licensing-options/open-license.aspx A more pragmatic take on this is provided by Dell here: http://content.dell.com/us/en/enterprise/vsl-microsoft-licensing-open.aspx Hope this is of some assistance.
