Advice on Symantec Endpoint Protection Suite for small non for profit

Hello, I wish to check before I make a purchase on 10x licences of Endpoint protection clients. Do I need to purchase Symantec protection centre (manasgement server) and Symanetic Mail security. My little organisation has a Server running on MS Server 2008 computers connected to the server. Many thanks David.

Hi David, My advise is to look at the hosted anti-virus and anti-spam solution. The AV updates will push directly to the desktops and server. If you have inhouse email like exchange, the hosted Anti-spam will make sure emails are checked before delivering it to your server. It will free up lots of your server resources. The hosted (AV and AS) solution is about $8-$10 per user per month. All the best... Cheers! AndersonReply by Colin Thompson from TechBrain on Wednesday, 20 August, 2014 - 10:34
Hi David, Symantec Protection Suite gives you a lot more but it is a question of whether you need it. Check out http://eval.symantec.com/mktginfo/downloads/Matrix_Evol_Products_Suite_Comparison.pdf for a comparison. You will clearly be better off paying one $5 purchase price per user per year than a hosted solution from a financial point of view. With only endpoint protection installed, load on the server will be fairly minimal. You can always buy Symantec Protection Suite and just install the Endpoint (AV) software and the manager. It also gives you Mac support and backups of clients. Regards Colin Thompson Community @bluenetworks.com.au http://www.bluenetworks.com.au
