Win 8 installation on MBR disks
We are trying to install Win 8 in dual boot environment with Win 7. We have created a new partition to load the Win 8 OS. We have rebooted the PC with the Win 8 DVD and selected a Custom install. Having selected the correct partition we have received advice that Win 8 will NOT be installed because the disk has an MBR partition and on EFI systems, windows can only be installed on GPT disks. Is there a solution other than converting the whole disk to GPT

Hi, will have to test this inhouse and get back to you, but one option might be to add an extra hdd and run the install on there, it be seeing the MBR for the win7 install. If you want you contact us further on this by email Thanks GrantReply by Steve Constantinou from Emerging IT Pty Ltd on Thursday, 10 January, 2013 - 15:16
I have checked with our technicians, who advise that you have to install Windows 8 first.
